We are offering a signed William Sprating first phase pin / brooch. This design is also on the cover of Mexican Silver by Morril & Berk in the larger size. This is the middle size which measures 3in. tall and has a width of 2.25in. Many of the earliest works are open backed repousse such as this one is and has a weight of 20 grams. There is a double pin that flips up and snaps down. It is great for holding a shawl together because it is so easy to use. The hallmarks are correct and one is into the design but you can still see it below the red mark in the picture. The Spratling butterflies are gorgeous, very rare and this one has no damage.
