Today we are offering a first phase signed William Spratling Quetzalcoatl necklace with repousse feathers and swirls flowing down the sculpted 3 dimensional head. There is a 20 inch wearable length and a weight of 83 grams. A huge presence is displayed as the head is 3 1/8th in. tall and 3.25 in. wide. The balls on it's hand are solid silver and can be determined by the raw underside. It is noted in SPRATLING SILVER A FIELD GUIDE BY PHYLLIS M. GODDARD that there are several variations of the Quetzalcoatl. We are thrilled to have the book cover design as it is the rarest of any variation. No dents on this beauty. This is a collectors dream, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!
