A very fine miniature jar dating from the Qing dynasty 17th century~beginning of 18th century.

It is decorated with motifs of plum trees in bloom on a deep underglaze cobalt blue (sometsuke) background.

The jar is in overall good condition. It presents “moth-eaten” edges on its lid and on its base. That was common on porcelain of that period (ko-sometsuke), made for the Japanese market where it was very much sought after.
