This beautiful jar from the Mediterranean island of Cyprus dates from around the 2nd millennium BC. The vessel is fairly well preserved, its polychrome decoration still vibrant, with minimal wear. There is very small chip around the middle of the body at the right of one of the handles (see picture 8), otherwise in great condition.
From the private collection of a Japanese gentleman.
The vessel will be shipped in a paulownia wood box, made to fit the artifact, as it is often customary in Japan for valuable objets.
The box is signed by Ichikawa Kiyoshi, a Japanese specialist of old world antiques, as an attestation of the artifact's authenticity.
Please inquire if you have some questions. More pictures available on request.
