A splendid vase made by Kato Shunto (1916-2005). Kato Shunto was a recognized artist and one of the most prominent Seto potters of the 20th century. He exposed in many national and international venues (USA, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Germany...) like the illustrious Nitten Exhibition and the Brussels Grand Prix. It seems that his work has also been used by the Imperial House of Japan.

The unpretentious vase presents a very attractive crystalized green glaze accentuated on the carved lines of the body and creating a subtle keshiki (landscape) where the underglaze markings look like peaks of distant mountains.
