Fantastic Bronze by Yabuuchi Satoshi
籔内佐斗司 作『 空蝉童子 』4/9【超稀少】ブロンズ

This amazing bronze was made by one of the most famous contemporary Japanese artists: Yabuuchi Satoshi.

It represents a fairy-like creature emerging from the nymph skin of a cicada.

The characters created by Yabuuchi Satoshi are inspired by Japanese folklore, itself influenced in part by Buddhist mythology. The artist, who teaches at the prestigious Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, is very much involved in the preservation of Japanese art. In 2008, Yabuuchi Satoshi designed the mascot of the city of Nara, one of the ancient capitals of Japan. It is used to promote the region, which has a long history and a rich culture, within Japan.

The bronze is numbered 4 in a series of only 9 pieces.

Yabuuchi Satoshi, a Osaka native, is internationally recognized and has also exposed his works in the U.S.A. and France. Several of his works are owned by Japanese museums.
