A superb Hakeme chawan (tea bowl) dating from the Joseon period (Richo, in Japanese (1392-1897), 16th-17th century.
It is a very fine example of the genre, with a finely crackled glaze. The bowl presents hairlines and chips, marks of it age, and elegant repairs made with lacquer and gold.
