Large Korean Joseon Period Dragon Jar
$7,800.00
Offers Welcome!
A remarkable blue and white jar decorated with two dragons. The jar dates from the Korean Joseon period (Richo, in Japanese; 1392-1897), probably 18th century.
The jar shows traces of old repairs made during the Japanese Edo period (1615-1868). They were made by literally stapling the broken or cracked pieces together.
In spite of these regrettable yet captivating flaws, the jar has kept its vibrant and noble aura.
