A very attractive chawan (tea bowl) by Tamura Koichi (1918-1987), who became Living National Treasure of Japan in 1986.

The writings on the box designate the bowl as a “copper colored camellia celadon tea bowl”, it is a decorative style often used by the master craftsman.

The chawan bears the seal of the potter. It is in excellent condition and comes with a signed wooden box.
