A superb marble bust of a young woman made by acclaimed Italian sculptor Lot Torelli (1835-1896).
Lot Torelli, born in Florence, was recognized in his time and was the recipient of several awards among which the Cross of Gold at the International Exhibition in London. He was often commissioned to sculpt portraits and funeral monuments.
This particular bust comes with a wooden stand onto which fits a stone stand. The sculpture bears a minute dent at the chin (don’t we all); it is otherwise in very good condition. Please refer to pictures for condition and details and inquire if you have some questions.
