An elegant Edwardian period baisse-taille white enamel and sterling silver brooch with fine engine turning and gold inlay, circa 1910. This antique 2" across pin was made by Blackinton of North Attleboro, Massachusetts (1862-1967), It was constructed from French baisse-taille enamel on sterling mounted with a pin assembly with a safety catch. The bright gold flowers and wreath inlaid on the brooch set it off beautifully against the engine-turned design under the enamel. It has a pattern number 9707, and it has some solder where the company attached the pin to the enamel gilt-silver disc. The entire back is satin finish and gilt - the solder is original to the manufacture of the brooch, and is not a repair (enamel has to be heated with extreme care after manufacture). It is in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, scrapes, dents, monograms, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use as would be expected. Silver and silver plated items are hand-polished, not buffed, and our halogens and magnified images may exaggerate otherwise barely noticeable scratches and flaws. GUARANTEE: ALL of our items are antique or vintage and from the period listed. NONE are reproductions or recreations. Expedited insured tracked parcel shipping to the U.S. starts at $22 and expedited shipping within Canada starts at $12. An unusual vintage post Edwardian English sterling silver miniature mirror pendant on a sterling chain. The 2-1/2" x 1-3/8" mirror is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1916 with a C&N maker's mark, for Crisford and Norris. The 22" sterling silver chain with spring-ring catch is indistinctly marked on the loop, but tests as silver (it came with mirror, appears to be vintage but cannot guarantee it was purchased with mirror originally). A decorative but useful piece, great bridal accessory, to keep a discreet look at makeup. This necklace weighs 12.6 grams, and it is in very good condition with no cracks, breaks, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than two small dents on the mirror handle. A superb post-Edwardian sterling silver and enamel sports award fob or pendant dated 1915. This 1-1/2 x 1-1/4" running or track award features fine cobalt enamel and a central gold washed or gilded medallion depicting a runner. It is dedicated on the back with the legend ST. M.C.I. ANNUAL SPORTS 1915 GIRLS J.C. FIRST and it is stamped STERLING with the Ryrie Bros. manufacture silver mark (later Birks). It is possibly from the St. Marys Collegiate Institute of St. Marys, Ontario and it weighs 10.7 grams. This trophy fob is in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a bit of rubbing to the gold wash. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. A Pforzheim Germany plique-a-jour enamel Arts and Crafts necklace from the 1910 era. This stunning survivor from the Edwardian era was made in the Pforsheim area of Germany which was the center of such items. Plique-a-jour (French: "Light of Day") refers to the labour-intensive technique of repeatedly firing enamel in metal-bordered cells resembling cloisonne, resulting in unbacked transluscent panels. This fine example measures 1-7/8 x 15/16", it has a baroque pearl drop and a pink tourmaline in silver (800 grade or better) with pale lavender purple enamel panels. The best exponent of this work was the firm of Levinger & Bissinger who were prime exponents of the Jugendstil movement. Included is a contemporary associated arts and crafts 25-3/8" chain (stamped STERLING on the hook and eye clasp) from which is suspended the pendant on a 4-1/8" drop with a hook suspension. The pendant has an impossible to read mark which appears to be a diamond cartouche containing a B and a possible animal head - a silver mark but as yet unidentified. This piece looks like the work of Levinger & Bissinger but we are unable to definitively confirm it's one of their pieces. This rarity weighs 7.1 grams and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs; a couple of enamel panels show natural striations form their manufacturing process. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Expedited tracked and insured parcel shipping to the U.S. starts at $40 (other spots may vary, air is higher). Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only. A scarce sterling silver filigree posey holder pin circa 1900 1910. This antique 2-1/4" long and 1" across (unmarked but tested) fantastic posy or corsage brooch is an example of ornate and very fine silver work. The ball and wire end makes me think it may be an older Indonesian / Yogya piece. It was assembled from three separate sections of filigree silver. It may be older than our estimate. This possible bridal item either started out as a flower bouquet holder and had the pin added or was always a posy-pin. It has a c-clasp. It can readily be converted to (or back to) a small bouquet holder. It weighs 12.6 grams, and it is in excellent condition for its age and fineness, with no corrosion or repairs other than what appears to be a small section of missing wire and the c-clasp has been repaired. All condition issues are noted. All items are vintage or antique and may have signs of use and patination as would be expected. Expedited insured tracked shipping to the U.S. starts at $24 (other spots may vary) - insurance and tracking are included in shipping quotes.
