A Moorcroft art pottery 5-7/8" vase in the Anemone pattern in the flambe line. This vase was produced 1947-53 period. This vintage example is stamped MOORCROFT MADE IN ENGLAND with Walter Moorcroft's monogram underglaze signature and cypher. Walter Moorcroft worked at Moorcroft from a young age, and took over after the death of William Moorcoft in 1945. Moorcroft pottery constantly explored different glazes even with their more popular patterns - the flambe is an interesting brown-orange colour. Flambe pieces are much less common than the blue or green background Moorcroft. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than some overall crazing.
