A Mauser Edwardian sterling silver loving cup or tyg with deer antler horn handles from the 1900 era. This exceptional American silver drinking, ceremonial or award cup stands 7-1/4" high and it weighs 448 grams (15.95 oz.). These cups were usually given as awards, frequently for sports or company service and most have detailed inscriptions; many were given as horse race awards as well and some of these are very valuable. This example has a scalloped rim, a gadroon design on the cup bottom and repousse floral work as well as the three natural antler handles. It is stamped STERLING 925/1000 FINE 1283A 1-1/2 PINT and it has the unicorn maker's mark for the Mauser Manufacturing Company New York, NY (1887 - 1903). Unusually this one has never been monogrammed and it would make a very special gift or award. It is in excellent condition with no dents, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a bend to the foot bell which gives the cup a wobble, but this can easily be repaired; it stands upright and displays beautifully. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use.
