A 19th century Scottish sterling silver banded agate pebble buckle brooch pin. From the early to mid-Victorian era, this large and dramatic pin measures 2-7/8 x 2-1/2". It has wonderfully striped and figured grey and white banded agate fitted stones with silver dividers and it has finely hand engraved and tooled decoration including a buckle, inner edge, decorated outer rim and an engraved pierced silver top. It has the original c-clasp and a loop for a safety chain and safety pin (absent). It is typically unsigned with no hallmarks and it would have been worn as a garter, kilt or sash pin. It weighs 42.0 grams and it is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs other than the probable replacement of one stone to the left of the figured cap (an old repair). All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use. Expedited tracked and insured parcel shipping to the U.S. starts at $25 (other spots may vary, air is higher). Items paid with a credit card will be shipped to confirmed addresses only.
