A fine modernist design 835 silver and rutilated quartz brooch made by Kordes & Lichtenfels of Pforzheim Germany circa 1950s 1960. This abstract 1-3/4" x 1-3/8" pin is signed 835 and K&L and it also has the three crown Swedish silver mark, so this piece was imported into Sweden originally to be sold. This 1-3/4" x 1-3/8" pin features square shape cabochon stones with black inclusions called rutilated quartz. A pair of Victorian 12k rose gold drop earrings circa 1900. These (unmarked but tested) 12k rose gold drop earrings are mounted on later gold filled screwback mounts. These earrings measure 1-1/2 x 1/2" and they are of hollow construction. They dangle freely and the facetted balls move as well. A half-ball is mounted on each 12k gold filled back, and this pair weighs 2.4 grams. They are in very good condition with no bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than a bit of flattening to one ball and some crushing to the other. A 9k gold synthetic or lab-created Alexandrite ring circa 1940s. This vintage size 7 retro ring is yellow gold and it has a round facetted claw-set created solitaire Alexandrite stone. This ring weighs 5.6 grams, it measures 3/4" at the widest and 1/2" across the stone. The stone measures 12 mm across and is approximately 7mm deep (measured in setting), so is approximately 7.25 carats in size. It is marked 9CT and has a maker's mark of CJM. No year mark, possibly removal due to a ring sizing. These simulated alexandrites are usually corundum laced with vanadium to produce the color change under different types of lighting, or a treated colourless chrysoberyl. This created gemstone has been around for almost 100 years, and the stones usually test as corundums or sapphires on a gem tester (natural genuine alexandrites are expensive and uncommon, most of what you will see for sale is the simulated version). This stone color variation is primarily purple-to-blue. It is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs.
