Heavy and gorgeous, this Matl necklace was produced by Ricardo Salas. Ricardo Salas worked with his aunt, Matilde Poulat. After her death in 1960 he continued producing her designs, as well as his own.

Each of the twenty-two panels have a pyramidal amethyst framed with twelve turquoise cabochons. It's nice and long, measuring 18 1/2" without the tongue portion of the clasp. Width is 13/16". Lays perfectly on the neck.

Weight is 91.8 grams.

Circa post-1980, this Matl necklace was produced by Ricardo Salas. Ricardo Salas worked with his aunt, Matilde Poulat. After her death in 1960 he continued producing her designs, as well as his own.

Measuring a closed, wearable length of 19 1/2", this looks spectacular on the neck. There are ten panels with amethysts and turquoise cabochons, each measuring 1" tall. The side panels each have turquoise cabs.

Offered here is a magnificent Matl necklace created by Ricardo Salas. It is the ultimate statement piece. Nineteen panels in total, each with three amethysts and sixteen turquoise cabochons. I believe this likely dates 1980's. It's signed and hallmarked, hand etched, with "Matl Mexico 925 M. Reg 142073 MS-12". When open, the inner length, not including the clasp, is just shy of 17". This is a gorgeous cuff produced by Los Castillo, with deeply chased swirling lines, oxidized recesses, and a beautiful patina. Signed and hallmarked Los Castillo Taxco, with the eagle assay 15 and design # 110. Weight is 58.9 grams. Edge to edge measures 5 5/8", with an additional opening/gap of 1 3/8". Certainly one of the most sought after designs from Los Ballesteros, this is a stand-out showpiece.
