Circa 1930's - 1940's, this easel frame is the work of Matilde Poulat / Matl. It's entirely hand-wrought and exquisitely crafted, with two beautiful repoussé birds. There is a faceted amethyst along with branch coral and turquoise and coral cabochons. It's very rare to find one of these frames which was made by Matilde Poulat, herself, in this early time frame, and this one pulls out all the stops. Measures 4 1/4" wide, 3 1/2" tall. Oval opening is 2 1/8" x 1 1/2". Weight is 92.3 grams. Signed and hallmarked "Matl" in script, 0.925 Hecho en Mexico D. F. In excellent vintage condition. Stones are all original.
