Chinese export Rose Famille tureen with matching cover. The lidded top has a patterned gilt knob and is beautifully decorated with scattered enamel rose flowers, pheasant, black and gilt butterflies, pomegranates, and other flowers. The base has a gilt edge and the interior has similar designs as the top, with the unique addition of a small red/black bug. The edge is unglazed. The exterior glaze has the orange peel look with flowers on fours sides. The bottom is glazed, but the foot is unglazed. The size is 5-1/4" high by 9-1/2" wide and 8-1/8" deep, and weighs 3.12 lbs. Overall condition is excellent, with no signs of use, no cracks, breaks or missing pieces. There is some loss of gold/gilt to normal wear. Date is c1820, Ching Dynasty.
