Early Chinese Rose Mandarin vase, finely decorated with rose medallion type scrolls, and featuring a Greek Key border surrounding rose mandarin vignettes. There are two seated mandarin figures surrounded by leaves and below is a scene with madarin, lady and child. The lip of the base is decorated with rose, green, and gold/gilt. The neck of the vase has scrolls and fan decorations between two gilt foo dogs and two gilt salamanders. The unglazed foot has some remnant of sand from the firing process. The condition is exceptionally good, with no damage and only some minor, expected loss to gilt. The size is 9-1/4" high by 4-1/2" diameter, and weight is 1.12 lbs. The date is early to mid 19th century, Ching.
