Offered is a vintage Steven Main studio Glass perfume bottle that reflects his interest in the patterns found in nature. Fiery colors gleam within this blown glass bottle, adding interest to the cut, asymmetrically faceted, and sandblasted surface. The bottle is 9 ½ " tall by 2 ¾ " wide. It is in excellent condition with minor scratches on the bottom consistent with age and use; no chips, scuffs, or repairs noted. The bottle is signed and dated on the bottom, as shown. Steve Main (Born 1951) first studied glassblowing with Henry Halem at Kent State University in the 1970s. That education, plus over thirty years of experimentation and innovation in the studio, has led to award-winning work. Fascinated by the immediacy and fluidity inherent in the glassblowing process, Main works in a series format that allows his ideas to slowly evolve as he explores how glass of different colors interacts. Main's work often references nature, although he enjoys that people interpret his work according to their own experience. What is important to him is to capture the viewer's imagination.
