Offered is a vintage Michael Trimpol studio glass perfume bottle. The bottle has a blue chamber encased in ribbed twisted clear glass, a single oval facet, and a large clear glass ball stopper. It is 6 3/4 "tall, including the stopper x 2 1/2 "wide, signed and dated on the base as shown, and in excellent condition, with; no chips, scuffs, or repairs noted. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Michael Trimpol was first introduced to glass working during high school. He pursued a career in stained glass while attending Concordia University in Montreal, designing and creating many residential commissions and several public installations. Frustrated with the limitations of the two-dimensional process, he enrolled at Sheridan College School of Craft & Design in Mississauga, Ontario, to learn the art of glassblowing. After graduating in 1985, he accepted a residency at Harbourfront Craft Studios. In 1989, he established his own company Hotglass Inc. in Mississauga, Ontario, where he designed and created a full line of blown glass products. In 1995, Michael relocated to Stowe, Vermont, and founded Little River Hotglass Studio with Monique LaJeunesse. Trimpol and Lajeunesse share a love for glass in its molten state and create functional objects that balance form and color. Each piece is unique and signed by the artist. Vessels with lids or stoppers, including perfume bottles, have always been a favorite motif.
