This is an atmospheric scene of a ship coming into port, pulled by a tugboat; it is rendered with remarkabley delicate lines and a rich yet quite subtle tonal range, giving a strong sense of a soft morning fog over calm waters. The canvas sails of the ship beautifully contrast with the steam of the tug as is dissipates into the misty air. Jean Baptiste Camille Corot 1796-1875 French This is a fine rich impression of the well known Corot etching Souvenir of Italy, this was first created in 1863, and printed in three states, including later ones with the publishers information at the bottom edge of the sheet. This one does not have that so may be an earlier or possibly later impression. The image measures 12 9/16X9 3/8 inches, printed on an antique laid type paper. Very fine condition, matted not framed...

This etching created in 1859 is impression II/II before the plate was damaged. It came to us with the original Kappel label on the back. Stephen Parrish 1846-1938 American This is an original drypoint etching by American artist Stephen Parrish. The title is: A Gloucester Wharf, it was created and printed in 1886. One of the few etchings that he made using exclusively dry point. The image measures 17 7/8X11 7/8 inches. Hand signed in pencil. A very rich impression with fine use of plate tone in the sky and water. This image appears in the Schneiderman catalog as image number 118.

Charles F. Daubigny, French, 1817-1878, "Le Gue," Etching and drypoint, image size 9 7/8 x 13 3/8 inches, 1865, IV/V, Melot D.118, printed at bottom margin "Daubigny Sculp." l.l., "Sarazin imp. Paris" l.r. and titled "Le Gue" l.c., framed. This was Daubignys' third contribution to the "Societe des Aquafortistes", also exhibited at the Exposition Universelle", the world's fair of 1867.

Jean Baptiste Camille Corot, 1796-1875, French, "Paysage d'Italie," Etching, image size 6 x 9 1/8 inches, cat: Melot- C.7, later printing without Cadart lettering, possibly after it was removed. This is a very nice impression with wide borders, printed on a medium weight cream colored laid type paper. This atmospheric image from Corot's series of Italian landscapes is a great example of his ability to capture the life and movement of the scene with loose spontaneous lines and rich tones.
