The scene depicts some oyster dredgers on Buzzon (or Besom) Creek, near Briscoe's home in Colchester. The oyster industry there is now endangered, but Briscoe has captured it well. Signed in ink in the lower right, numbered "39" in the lower left. A fine impression with good use of plate toning...

A very rare lithograph by the British artist Edmund Blampied measuring 17 1/2 x 14 inches, pencil signed and numbered 3/3. Edmund Blampied was a very successful artist and illustrator in early 20th century Britain. He illustrated many books and magazines, but is best known for his remarkable skills as a printmaker. He was an important figure in the 'British Etching Revival' of the early 20th century, and was elected to the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1920.

This 1921 original etching by the British artist, Ernest Lumsden, measures 14 3/8 x 8 1/2 inches, pencil signed, dated in the plate, 1921. Rotherhithe, meaning "a mariner's haven", in southeast London, was the first place that docks were constructed for the convenience of the Londoners.

Yasuo Kuniyoshi 1889-1953 Japanese-American, Arts Students League N.Y. This is a fine pencil signed and dated lithograph by American artist Yasuo Kuniyoshi. This image created and printed in 1928, has an image size of 11X6 inches, printed on an ivory toned chine colle, adhered to a thicker supporting sheet. This lithograph is numbered as 28/30. Very fine condition apart from a line of toning in the border where an earlier window mat once lay. Catalog as Davis L-30.

This Warren Davis etching measures 7 7/8 x 6 inches, pencil signed, label from Kleemann-Thorman Galleries, New York included, c.1928. This delicately rendered etching is a great example of Davis's images of graceful female nudes, many of which were used for Vanity Fair and Life magazines in the very early 1900s.

Numbered 65 in an edition of 300. Catalog: Novak 432. Pencil signed in the lower right, numbered in the lower left. An atmospheric etching that captures the bleak weather with splashes of color. F. Simon was born in Bohemia, now the Czech Republic...

Original etching by the British artist, Arthur Brisco, measuring 6 1/2 x 10 7/8 inches, 1926, signed and numbered; 62/75, cat: Hurst-158. Britain's "General Strike" was the theme of Brisco's dramatic image of "The Orator". The strike, mainly by coal-miners upset with their goverments' reduction in wages and worsening conditions, also included dockers, printers, power station workers and transport workers, thus Brisco's interest in the subject.
