George Elbert Burr 1859-1939 American This is one of the finest etchings by American artist George Elbert Burr. The title of this work is: High Street, Oxford, circa 1900 when he and his wife spent time touring europe. A wonderful impression of a rainy night in the city. Richly inked, pencil signed and titled in the lower border. The image measures 10X12 inches. Framed.

Mortimer L. Menpes, English, 1860-1938, "Goring Church, Goring-on-Thames". Printed on laid-type paper. Pencil signed with an "imp" after his name indicating he was the printer. Inscription in the lower left says "Rose." Image is 11 2/8 x 12 3/8 inches on 11 3/4 x 14 1/2 paper. c. 1910.

Mortimer Menpes, English, 1860-1938, "Interior of St Maclou, Rouen". This etching by Mortimer Menpes measures 12 3/8 x 6 3/8 inches, pencil signed, c. 1902, edition of 50, looking towards the Gothic Baldachin. Menpes attended the School of Art in London in 1878 and started exhibiting at the Royal Academy in 1880. He became a major figure in the etching revival, producing more than seven hundred different etchings and drypoints, which he usually printed himself.
