William Lionel Wyllie, British, 1851-1931, "Windy Day Cowes Week- Isle of Wight". A fine detailed etching by British printmaker, William Lionel Wyllie. Created c. 1915, it measures 6 1/2 x 14 3/4 inches and is pencil signed on the l.l. This is a great image of yacht racing in the Solent, where Cowes Week is an annual sailing event. Wyllie was a well known marine painter and printmaker, studying at the Heatherley School of Fine Art and then at the at the Royal Academy...

Meyerowitz studied at the National Academy of Design in NY and is best known for his development of producing etchings in color.
