David Young Cameron, Scottish, 1865-1945, "Pap of Glencoe". A very fine original etching of the mountain near Glencoe, in the Scottish Highlands by Scottish artist D Y Cameron. The image size is 3 3/8 x 4 3/8 inches, published in 1915 in an edition of about 50 impressions, pencil signed. Cameron was born in Scotland and studied at the Glasgow School of Art and at the Edinburgh School of Art, becoming one of the great artist of the British etching revival of the early 20th century. Known for his rich, atmospheric images, Cameron often used rich contrasts and deep shadows rather than minute details to create his images of the European landscape and architecture.
