This Chinese bowl dates to the early part of the 20th century. It features a bat and phoenix perched amongst rocks and peonies. The petals of the flowers show lightly inscribed veins. There is enamelled peach and foliage to the interior. An iron-red mark is stamped on the base. This bowl is in very good condition, only two glaze pops on the worn gilt rim. There are no chips, cracks or restoration.

This pair of Japanese cloisonne vases is of high quality with the panels of chrysanthemums featuring very fine wire-work. The diaper work below the rim and above the base is exquisite. There are two framed cartouches, one depicting a phoenix and Palonia leaves, the other a scene of birds flying through cherry blossom. There are no chips, cracks or restoration, just a very slight dint on the rim of one of the vases, hardly noticeable.

This Chinese porcelain elongated bottle-shape vase in monochrome is decorated in a Sang de Boeuf glaze with a chicken bone rim and drip glaze to the top part of the neck giving a striated appearance. The vase dates to the late 19th/early 20th century. The glaze ends neatly above the foot with no grinding. This piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restoration.

This Chinese gilt-decorated black-glazed porcelain ovoid jar with domed lid has a 6-character underglaze blue Kangxi mark on the base. There is significant gilt wear to the shoulder and lid decoration. The lid has been repaired and there is a very small glaze chip to the inner rim.

This piece of Sumida Gawa pottery is signed by Ryosai and shows a panel of monkeys cavorting around a Japanese lantern. The other side depicts a monkey screaming with delight. This solid Japanese Meiji bronze elephant is very heavy with skin and muscles modelled to a high standard. The elephant looks very animated and was obviously created by an artist of great talent. It is marked on the base with what looks to be a slightly rubbed Seiya signature. There is no damage to this piece.

This Japanese lidded cloisonne pot is referred to as Totai Cloisonne. The base material of the cloisonne decoration is ceramic and not the usual metal. Various cloisons which are adhered to the ceramic surface are filled with a variety of coloured enamel as is the case with cloisonne on metal. The pot is in good condition with an overall floral decoration. The internal lip of the lid has a small flake.

This Japanese netsuke is a lovely example of deer antler carved into a duo of abalone shells, the smaller resting on the surface of the larger shell. The piece has a wonderful old patina and is very tactile to the touch. The himotoshi are large and deep and there appears to be a very worn signature to the underside. This netsuke is in good condition with no damage.

This carving of a female abalone diver is a very early antler ivory netsuke. Miniature in size, this piece is a rare depiction of a naked abalone diver clutching an awabi shell to her chest and holding a hooked blade in her other hand. The woman's hair is tied at the back.
