Pair of sterling silver sugar tongs in form of harlequin. Made by John Millward Banks in Birmingham in 1894. Harlequin, in traditional patchwork costume, grips two bow-tied rings (that is the handles), while his feet rest on foliate jaws. Witty. Hallmarked. Excellent condition with period patina.
