George II sterling silver salver. Made in London in 1757. Scrolled and gadrooned rim with foliage. Rests on 3 leaf-capped volute scroll supports. Engraved armorial. Large and heavy. Indistinct hallmark – possibly by George Methuen, a specialist in salvers. Condition: rich patina and attractive wear and rubbing.
