George II sterling silver snuffer tray. Made in London in 1757. Rectangular with concave sides and 4 corner c-scroll supports on pads. Gadrooned rim with corner foliage. Central armorial. Double-scroll handle with leaf cap.
A great period piece that can be put to some modern practical use. Fully hallmarked underside. Maker's initials indistinct – possibly Dorothy Mills. Attractive rubbing and wear.
