Edwardian sterling silver bowl. Made by Howard Sterling Co. in Providence for JE Caldwell in Philadelphia, ca 1900. Solid oval well, tapering sides, and shaped ends with open scroll handles. Rim wavy with applied scrolls and leaves. Sides have pierced ornament: Fluid scrollwork in wide frames alternating with diaper trellis in narrow frames. On open foot ring with scrolls and leaves terminating in four supports. Fully marked including maker’s and retailer’s stamps and no. 7378. Very good condition.
