Large Japanese mixed metal on silver vase, ca 1880. Tapering with round shoulder and short spool neck. Applied ornament in silver, gold, and copper: Chrysanthemums—big bold blooms with fluid whiplash petals—on overlapping leaves. Wonderful Meiji-era craftsmanship and design. Marked with Japanese characters. Very good condition with nice patina.
