Edwardian sterling silver baby cup. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1898. Bowl has curved bottom on inset stepped foot, and tapering reeded c-scroll handle. Rim border comprising square frames with low-relief pictogram-style representations of nursery rhymes, including a fiddling cat and moon-jumping cow (Hey, Diddle, Diddle) and a blackbird pie and clothes-hanging maid (Sing a Song of Sixpence). A cerebral distillation of key symbols. Lots of room for engraving. Interior gilt-washed. Fully marked including date symbol and no. A112. Very good condition.

Dimensions: H 3 1/4 x W 4 1/4 x D 3 1/4 in. Weight: 4.7 troy ounces. #BR357
