Bird’s Nest sterling silver baby cup. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1868. Straight and upward tapering sides, and bracket handle. On front is cast figure of nesting bird mounted to chased and engraved irregular ground with leaves and acorns. A rare hollowware adaptation of the figural flatware pattern introduced by Gorham in 1865. Fully marked including date letter and no. 547. Very good condition.
