Pair of German 812 silver game birds, ca 1870. First bird is a lapwing with antenna-like crown and curved bill. Wings tucked-down. Stiff, scaly legs and firmly planted talons. Second bird stands with breast thrust out, showing off some major plumage. Open beak. Long and tapering forked crown. Engaging table ornaments for the next hunt dinner. Marks include 13 (that is 13/16 loths). Very good condition with nice patina.
