German Rococo 930 silver trinket box. Rectangular with straight sides and chamfered corners with wing-mounted monopodia supports. Cover hinged and raised with cast figural finial of boy in tricorn hat. Eighteenth-century scenes on sides. On front are a boy and girl musician (possibly Mozart and sister Nannerl). On back a courtly couple executes a minuet. Sides are dedicated to rustic pursuits: Soil-tilling peasants on one, and raucous topers on other. Interior gilt washed. Marked “930”, “Sterling”, and maker’s stamps for Georg Roth, who was active in Hanau from 1891 until after World War I. Excellent condition.

Overall dimensions: H 5 1/2 x W 12 1/2 x D 4 in. Heavy weight: 14.5 troy ounces. #BU972
