Edwardian sterling silver porringer, ca 1920. Retailed by Cartier in New York. Round bowl with gently upward tapering sides and open tree handle. Acid-etched frieze with anthropomorphic animals: hat-wearing geese, frock-coated dogs, and basket-carrying bears. Drum (vacant) pounded by human jester. Second human holds the reins of harnessed pig.
