This is beautiful Louis XV style Rococo Commode made from solid and exquisitely patinaed walnut during the second half of the 19th century. This stunning piece consists of a heavily veined serpentine shaped Rouge Royal beveled marble top sitting upon an elegant and nicely embellished bowed facade accented with acanthus patterns. Beside the visual impact this commode is also very convenient thanks to the storage capacity provided by four large drawers, all mounted with their original hardware. The pediment consists of a lovely scrolled and sculpted apron, supported by the classical cabriole legs on escargot feet. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa date 1870-1880. Dimensions 40"high/ 50½"wide/ 20½"deep.
