This is a beautiful late 19th century Headboard, inspired of the Napoleon III era more or less 30-40 years earlier. This elegant piece is highlighted with its original bronze ormolus. The central crest depicts the classical French shell, accented with acanthus patterns and flanked on one side by an oak tree branch while the other side represents an olive tree branch. The side mounts are more formal with a torchiere-shaped ormulus boasting a detailed shell with interlaced wreath and tied ribbon. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1890-1900. Dimensions 58"high/ 59"wide.
