This is a nice set of 10 massive dining chairs made from solid oak by the end of the 19th century during the Renaissance revival period. This set is originally coming from the city of Caen in northern France's Normandy region. Each with tall back, highlighted with round finial, standing upon a large squared seat supported by boldly sculpted front legs, which are connected to the the straight back legs by an H-shaped stretcher. The floral upholstery is estimated to be a couple of decade old and is in passable condition. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1880-1890. Dimensions 44"high/ 19"seat height/ 20"wide/ 19"deep.
