This is a beautiful set of 6 dining chairs made from solid and exquisitely patinaed oak by the the beginning of the 20th century. Such chairs are originally coming from Brittany in northwestern France. Each chair is boasting a stunning backrest with an intricate embellishment depicting floral and wheat patterns surrounding the central spindle wheel. The backrests are standing upon the rush seats, which are supported by a pair of baluster shaped legs connected to the straight back legs thanks to a H-shaped stretcher providing stability and sturdiness. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1910-1920. Dimensions 36½"high/ 17½"seat height/ 15½"wide/ 14¾" deep.
