A Chinese bronze two-handled censer in the manner of Hu Wenming, Ming dynasty, 16th/17th century. 15 cms wide. Provenance: Hugh Gordon Lowder (1888-1978) who worked at Chinese Maritime Customs, Shanghai, 1908-1914 and 1918-1940.

A fine,large and very heavily cast Japanese bronze flower vase of shaped dodecagonal cross section, with central reticulated floral section and pierced galleried rim. 15 in. 38 cms. high and 29 cms across the top. Edo/Meiji period, mid 19th century. Signed on the base Gyoko. Weight in excess of 3kg.

An interesting, rare and early Arita crackle-glazed bottle, Japan, early to mid 17th century, heavily potted, with silvery bronze rim mount and attractive kintsugi gold lacquer repairs to the foot rim. 32 cms. A recent (mis-catalogued) purchase from the Robert Kime Collection pt. 2, La Gonette, France.

A fine and heavily cast Chinese bronze censer and stand cast as a finger citrus, the stand with trailing leaves. The burner with a beautiful honey brown patina suffused with gilt flecks. Late Ming/early Qing dynasty, 17th century. Length 20 cms. Weight 1580g.

A Chinese painted grey pottery figure of a standing musician, very well modelled wearing a wind hat, his head turned down to the right. 20 cms. Northern Wei dynasty, 5th/6th century AD. Oxford TL Test Certificate. This is a rare figure. To date I have only seen one other musician from the same set.

A small Chinese marble torso fragment, Tang dynasty, 10 cms wide. This has been in a UK collection for 25 years. Purchased in Beijing 1990's.

A Chinese buff stoneware conical bowl, finely and thinly potted, with moulded floral interior, covered in a rich amber glaze finishing well above the foot to show the white slip. 12.5 cms diam., Liao dynasty, 10th/11th century. Provenance: A Buckinghamshire, UK, collection formed in the 1980's.

A Chinese bleu de Hue dish for the Vietnamese market, with copper rim, painted with five dragons, the base with the mark 'man tang fu ji' meaning Mark of the hall filled with good fortune. 18.5cms diam. Qing dynasty, 19th century. Good condition.

A Chinese pottery pear-shaped vase of yuhuchunping form, covered in an attractive mirror-black glaze finishing above the foot to reveal the thin pale brown slip. 17cms. Yuan dynasty. Acquired in Cape Cod, USA, in 1998.

A Chinese bronze vase with dragon head handles, well cast with two bands of taotie masks above a band of blade shaped panels of further masks, the details and eyes of the beasts picked out in gold and silver. Height 12in, 31cms. Heavily cast, weight 2500g. Mid Qing dynasty, 18th/early 19th century.

A Chinese bronze slender pear-shaped vase unusually cast in high relief with two guei dragons, each with long double-ended tail, one reaching the base, the other the rim. 31 cms, late Ming dynasty, 16th/17th century. A couple of shallow knocks to the underside. Otherwise good condition.
