 SOLD - Thank you!
Chunky fine, .970 silver and gorgeous, appetizingly curvaceous tiger's eye spheres come together in this set of Mexican cufflinks by Taxco's renowned modernist, Antonio Pineda. The specific design is very popular in necklace and bracelet form but when it surfaces, it is usually with chrysoprase or aventurine or some other green stone. This is the first time I have seen it with tiger's eye and I have to admit, I love the combination. What I also find very tempting is that the cufflinks seem to have the exact same dimensions as the earrings in the demi - the only thing that is different is, of course, the findings... The cufflinks measure 7/8" tall by 1" wide (at the top) and weigh 26.3 grams (for the set). They are fully signed with Antonio's crown as shown as well as "TAXCO MEXICO 970", "CM" and Eagle 17 assay mark and date in the 1960s. In very good vintage condition with gorgeous caramel golds and golden browns in the stones, great patina and eye-catching design, with no damage or repairs noted except for a couple of small nicks on the pair's edges - not offensive at all, however, and not really attracting the eye.
