Based on Salvador Teran's sought-after "dancers" design, the bracelet I am presenting here was crafted in the period the renowned Mexican modernist was active by one of his contemporary Taxco maestros. Absolute minimalism, strong graphics and a sense of unencumbered, fluid motion characterize the figural overlay which dominates the shadow-box construction of the three central links. Just as in Salvador's original there are curve-topped disks and stars scattered in the frames, elements which make me wonder whether it is circus artists rather than dancers the design is supposed to represent. Gorgeous patina, impressive presence and comfortable articulation come together in a little work of mid-century wearable art. Measuring 6 3/4" long (wearable) and with its width varying between 1 3/8" and 5/8" the bracelet weighs 64.5 grams. It is marked "STERLING MEXICO SILVER" and bears a partially stamped Eagle assay mark as shown. It dates in the 1950s-60s and is in
excellent vintage condition, exhibiting very good craftsmanship, with its oxidation in great shape, having wonderful patina and no damage or repairs noted.
