Gerardo Lopez belongs, in my humble opinion, among the very best repoussage maestros of early Taxco - his work is absolutely phenomenal, deeply chased and elaborate and just a pleasure to have and behold. The clamper bracelet at hand aptly illustrates his talent and craftsmanship; wrought in 980 silver, it has a distinctly Nouveau air to it with its undulating, twisting and turning scrolls and floral motifs. Fantastic patina and excellent condition along with generous size elevate this piece to the heights of a must-have Taxco classic. The bracelet has an inner circumference of 6 3/4" while its width varies between a stunning 4 3/8" in the front and 7/8" at its narrowest, next to the hinge. It weighs 74.9 grams and is fully signed with Lopez's name and Eagle 26 alongside "980 TAXCO". Dating in the 1950s-60s and in excellent vintage condition with a tight, snappy hinge.
