The popularity of Matilde Poulat's jewelry and her exceptional creative genius prompted several of her contemporary maestros to emulate them - in fact, copies of her pieces are made to this day, some less "successful" than others.
The ring at hand dates, I believe, in the pre-1948 period and is very well made. Not signed for maker, it features Matilde's signature channel-set turquoise cabs surrounding a bigger, oval stone in a deep powder blue color.
The familiar wirework adorns both the shank and the underside of the raised setting and the patina is just what you want to see on a ring of this vintage.
The ring is a size 5.75 with its face 7/8" both in width and height. It will rise approx. 1/2" above the finger when worn and weighs 9.3 grams. Not signed for maker it bears a hand-etched "MEX" hallmark and dates in the pre-1948 period. In excellent vintage condiition with beautiful variation in the color of the turquoise cabs.
