Very much in the style of Matilde Poulat, a drop-dead-gorgeous set of repousse hair combs adorned with amethyst and faux turquoise cabs. Earthy, hand-made quality; beautiful amethysts with clouding and inclusions; generous size and an endearing naivete in the design's execution with assymetry and variations in the combs' proportions turn this set into an eye-catching treasure. Perfect for the winter bride, I believe, yet you don't have to marry to enjoy them! Each comb is 4" wide and the silver part's height varies between 1 1/16" and 1/2". Neither of them are marked as far as I can see yet they are silver, most probably sterling if not higher, and date in the pre-1948 period. In excellent vintage condition with fantastic patina and the celluloid combs in very good shape as well.
