The Mozaico Azteca line of the Los Castillo taller is one of my favorite genres in the realm of vintage Mexican silver jewelry. It could be that I am partial to the blues and greens of the azur-malachite inlay but it is also due to the impeccable craftsmanship those pieces display and the immeasurable patience and concentration on the part of their maker they offer witness to. The necklace at hand, with its substantial row of curved sterling links interrupted by small repousse beads is a dream to wear and to behold. It sits beautifully around the neck and holds its position like a dream - and the color of the inlay is so rich and variegated, one never tires of looking at it. The necklace measures 15" long (wearable) by 3/4" wide and weighs 133.7 grams. It is signed with the taller's and the line's name as well as "STERLING MADE IN MEXICO" and des. no 230 alongside Eagle 15 assay mark. Dating in the 1950s-60s and in excellent vintage condition with a couple of tiny tiny little superficial pops in the inlay; they are truly minuscule and don't register easily either. The matching bracelet is also available in my inventory and I will be listing it in the next few days.
