Vintage Mexican mid-century copy of Hubert Harmon's "sea serpents" cuff bracelet, this is a nice alternative to the original that is very hard to find and hence commands lofty prices. I like to think that Harmon was inspired by Mexican folk art when he created this design as is the case with his famous "mermaid" pieces. And though the cuff at hand is simply marked "MEXICO", I wouldn't be surprised if it was made by Casa Maya since they did not always fully sign their creations. Having an inner circumference of just about 6 3/4" (including the 1 3/16" gap; relatively adjustable though) the bracelet is 2 1/2" wide. It dates in or around the 1950s and is in excellent vintage condition with great patina, nice repoussage and no damage or repairs noted.
