 SOLD - Thank you!
Early Mexican Deco silver repousse brooch, hand-wrought in a design that combines pre-Colombian motifs with the colorful surprise of a turquoise dangle. I love these pioneer pieces - their workmanship has something very earthy about it, as if the anonymous maestro's hands are still there to be seen as they work the silver. Perfect now the weather calls for heavier outerwear, it measures 3" wide and is 2 3/4" tall weighing 28.3 grams. Simply marked "MEXICO SILVER", it dates in the 1930s and is in excellent vintage condition with deep recesses and bold repoussage, great patina and no damage or repairs noted.
